Kaspersky marks today as Safer Internet Day (9th Feb 2010) to alert users of all age group who use Internet as a part of their everyday life. Childs and Teens uses to meet with their friends via social networks and parents do their weekly online shopping. On the other hand, digital pollution such as cybercriminals and unwanted intruders compromising the average users Internet life.

Kaspersky explains the Digital Pollution as “cyber junk” which comes in our way of digital lives. 30k+ new digital threats are being discovered online every day which are created for the purpose of stealing our data, financial info’s, stealing our online identity and deleting our files. Finally we end up in Stress in our normal life.

Kaspersky started a website Safer Internet Day 2010 with the theme as “Think before you Post” which emphasizes not to reveal any personal information in social networking sites. This day aims at educating Teens and Professionals to protect their identity online by using privacy services provided by social networking sites, selecting trustworthy friends online, publish pictures of their own after thinking carefully about the consequences and also posting friends pictures with their permission.

Don’t go with the title name as its not a technical issue here. We thought of talking about the reasons of Eye fatigue caused due to computers. You might already received a lot about this through forwarded emails but still let us shortened the story and deliver as may be useful for some tech savvy like you.

When you are in front of computer for long hours it can cause Headaches, Eye Irritation, Eye Fatigue and also Blurred Vision. Check out the reasons and effective measures to follow.

Reasons for Eye Fatigue and Irritation

1. Having a fixed posture which keeps the upper Body Fixed for a long period of time.
2. Continously Gazing the computer Monitor
3. Eye Muscles do not get an opportunity to move
4. Light sources falling on the computer screen causes glares and will have an adverse effect on your Eye pupils
5. When working in the computer the blink rate of our eyes reduces to 5-10 per/minute whereas in general it will be 15-20 a minute.

Simple Eye Exercises for keeping your Eyes Strain Free

1. Before getting to start your work keep your eyes closed, roll your eyeballs both clock and anticlockwise and take a deep breath. Gradually open your eyes while releasing your breath. This excercise will take only a minute and will serve a good workout for the eyes.

2. 20-20-20 Rule: Every 20 minutes of looking into the computer screen, look at any object placed 20 feets away resulting the change in the focal length of your eyes. Try and blink your eyes for 20 times to moisten them. If you are a person who used to talk more while working at the computer like providing technical support, then for every hour you can stand and try to walk a little bit which will help the blood circulation for the entire body.

3. Include foods that are beneficial for your Eyes health. Some of them Include Cauliflower, Sunflower seeds, raw cabbage, Watercress, cantaloupes broccoli. Carrot Juice is Excellent in preventing common Eye problems.

4. Keep two used tea bags in the refrigerator before you leave for work. Once you are home, place the tea bags on your eyes for a few minutes – this will soothe your tired eyes.

5. When You return From Work cut two thin Slices of fresh potato or cucumber Slices and Place them Just Over Your eyes. Lie Down and keep it for 10 Minutes.After that Wash your Face with Cold Water.
